Colin Schmidt

Colin Schmidt's work experience begins in 2011 when they worked as a Bilingual Teacher in the Waterloo School District, teaching 1st grade in a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) setting. During this time, they collaborated with fellow educators to design differentiated, bilingual instruction and participated in committees for school leadership and educational technology implementation.

In 2014, Colin joined the Madison Metropolitan School District as a Bilingual Teacher. In this role, they designed and delivered bilingual instruction to a diverse student population, collaborated and problem-solved with other teachers and families to meet students' academic and social-emotional needs, and taught across all content areas for grades 2-4.

Colin transitioned to a Front-End Web Developer position in 2020, where they worked until 2021. Colin utilized their technical skills to develop web interfaces and applications.

In 2021, Colin became a Product Manager at Harris Education Solutions, focusing on managing and coordinating product development and enhancement.

Currently, Colin is a Product Manager II at Savvas Learning Company, starting in 2022.

Colin Schmidt attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse from 2007 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Teaching. In 2014, they enrolled at Edgewood College and completed a Bilingual Education Certificate in 2017.

In addition to their formal education, Colin has acquired several certifications. In 2018, they obtained a Bilingual Teacher Certification from ACTFL, and in 2019, they obtained a GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) Tier 1 Certification from Orange County Public Schools. More recently, in 2021, they earned certifications as a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from the Scrum Alliance and in Responsive Web Design from freeCodeCamp.
