Melissa Walker

Melissa Walker has extensive experience in the publishing industry, with a focus on custom publishing and educational materials. Melissa began their career in 2011 as a Core Writing Coach at Saint Michael's College Writing Center, where they assisted students with writing and developed problem-solving, time management, communication, and organization skills. In 2013, they joined Pearson as an Editorial Assistant, supporting Development Editors in the creation of K-12 custom textbooks, with a focus on science and math. Melissa was later promoted to Editor, where they managed the development of K-12 custom textbooks and educational materials, with a strong emphasis on Science. In 2018, Melissa moved to Pearson K-12 Learning as a Senior Editor, continuing their work in custom publishing until 2019. Melissa then joined Savvas Learning Company as a Senior Editor, focusing on custom publishing. Throughout their career, Melissa has demonstrated expertise in analyzing standards, identifying content gaps, creating project plans, and collaborating with sales and product management teams.

Melissa Walker completed their education starting from 2004 to 2008 at Tewksbury Memorial High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Melissa then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Saint Michael's College from 2008 to 2012. Additionally, they recently obtained a certification in UX Foundations: Accessibility from LinkedIn in December 2021.
