Service Operations Manager at Savvas Learning

Sean Abbott has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Starting in 2004, they worked as a Summer Safe Haven Counselor at Bloomingdale Elementary School in Fort Wayne Community Schools. From 2005 to 2006, they held roles such as Director of Volunteer Youth at HIX-TV and Front Desk Coordinator at the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne. In 2006, they also served as a School of Journalism Class Coach at Indiana University Bloomington.

Then, from 2007 to 2008, they worked as a Language Arts Teacher and Student Publications Adviser at Northwest Allen County Schools, Carroll High School. In 2007, they also became a High School Journalism Institute Head Counselor at Indiana University Bloomington, a role they continued until 2015. From 2008 to 2013, they worked as a High School Journalism Institute Counselor and School of Journalism Class Coach at Indiana University Bloomington.

In 2013, they joined Ball State University as a NewsLink Indiana Graduate Assistant, and in 2014, they became a School of Nursing Simulation and Information Technology Center Graduate Assistant at the same university.

Starting in 2015, they worked at Pearson, initially as a Resource Deployment Advisor, coordinating logistical aspects related to professional development training and customer care. Sean then became a Resource Operations Specialist and later an Operations Process Lead Specialist, maintaining compliance with specified workflow and analyzing customer needs.

Since 2020, they have been with Savvas Learning Company, first as a Virtual Learning Manager, leading a team of educational consultants delivering professional development services. Currently, they serve as a Service Operations Manager, overseeing various partnership and internal projects, including product activation training for customers.

Sean Abbott obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Journalism and Secondary Education from Indiana University Bloomington, which they attended from 2003 to 2007. In 2013, they enrolled in Ball State University and completed coursework towards a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Digital Storytelling / Telecommunications in 2015. In addition, Sean obtained a Professional Educator's License from the State of Indiana in August 2012.
