Per Westergren

Per Westergren has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Per has worked as a Chief Security Officer at SBAB since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Skandia from 2019 to 2023, where they served as the Head of Business Continuity & Crisis Management. In this role, they were responsible for establishing and implementing group-wide instructions and processes related to Business Continuity and Crisis Management, as well as providing strategic advice and support to the business units.

Before joining Skandia, Per Westergren was the Head of Software Sales & Implementation, Nordics at 4C Strategies from 2016 to 2019. During this time, they played a key role in negotiating and closing large deals with global companies and Nordic banks and media organizations, leading to significant growth in the customer base. Per also held the position of Business Development Manager (Financial Sector) at 4C Strategies from 2017 to 2018, where they achieved a substantial increase in annual vertical sales within the Nordic financial sector.

Prior to their time at 4C Strategies, Per Westergren worked at the U.S. Department of State as an FSN from 2011 to 2016, where they gathered and analyzed data in risk and security matters, managed client and congressional relationships, and provided advising to senior management. Per also worked as a Security Consultant at SFS AB from 2009 to 2014, focusing on physical security and client relations.

Per Westergren began their career as a Junior Management Consultant at Ramboll Management Consulting in 2011, where they were involved in software sales and implementation, survey crafting and analysis, and B2B sales. Per also gained internship experience at Svenska institutet and the U.S. Department of State, where they assisted program managers, conducted report writing, and contributed to social media and website content production. Additionally, they interned at Seeds of Peace, where they managed intercultural programs and engaged with stakeholders.

Per Westergren obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science from the University of North Dakota, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Per then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Political Science at Stockholm University, graduating from 2009 to 2011. In 2021, they participated in an exercise evaluation course in collaboration with The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) at Försvarshögskolan - Swedish Defence University. In addition to their degrees, Per Westergren also earned the certification of Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. in November 2020.
