Herbert Friedl

Herbert Friedl is the Head of Civil Engineering at SBB, leveraging over 15 years of management experience in the mobility and energy sectors. With a Dipl.-Ing. from Technische Universität Graz and an EMBA from Universität St.Gallen, they focus on economic efficiency and sustainability within civil engineering. Previously, they held roles such as Head of Department Asset Management and Head of Structural Engineering at SBB, where they developed risk-based maintenance management and established process-oriented workflows. Herbert has also contributed to academia as a guest lecturer at FH- Campus Wien and has led projects in risk management for BKW AG. In their personal time, they are passionate about mountain biking and hobby gardening, emphasizing endurance and sustainability.
