Nicolas Steinmann is currently serving as Chef de projet général technique ferroviaire at SBB CFF FFS, overseeing the technical aspects of the direct railway link between Neuchâtel and La Chaux-de-Fonds. With extensive experience in project management, they previously held the role of Projektleiter Fahrstrom at AlpTransit Gotthard AG from 1994 to 2021, focusing on significant infrastructure projects like the Gotthard-Basislinie. Nicolas has also contributed to the public transport sector as President of the Région Romandie / Valais for the Association des cadres des transports publics since 2022, and teaches a postgraduate course on railway electrical installations at Haute école d'ingénierie et d'architecture de Fribourg. Their earlier experience includes a position as Sachbearbeiter Kabeltechnik at SBB Bau Generaldirektion and leading the project for the book "Gotthard via subalpina."
