Raphael Nir

Co-Founder, President and CSO at SBH Sciences

Raphael Nir has been involved in the biotechnology industry since 1990, when they began a post-doc position at Schering-Plough Research Institute. In 1992, they were promoted to Senior Scientist/Associate Principal Scientist at Schering-Plough. In 2013, Nir co-founded SBH Diagnostics, a Contract Research Organization and CLIA Lab, and served as President and Chief Scientific Officer. In 2014, they co-founded Alma Bio Therapeutics and Sky Ventures, a MA-based investment group. Additionally, Nir co-founded ABI-LAB, an 85,000 square-foot Boston-based Accelerator and Bio-Incubator in 2016, and currently serves as its Managing Partner.

Raphael Nir received their Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Tel Aviv University in 1982. Raphael then went on to receive their Master's Degree in Biochemistry from Tel Aviv University in 1984. Following this, they completed their PHD in Biotechnology from Tel Aviv University in 1990. In 1995, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Finance, General from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, which they completed in 1997.
