Samuel Abbey has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Samuel began their career at Rudolph and Sletten as a Project Engineer in 1986 and worked there until 1989. Following this, they volunteered for the Peace Corps, serving in Uruguay from 1991 to 1992 and in Malawi from 1989 to 1991. In 1993, Abbey joined DPR Construction as a Project Executive and remained in this role until 1999. Samuel then became the President of SC BUILDERS, Inc. in 1999, a position they still hold.

Samuel Abbey attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 1981 to 1986. Samuel pursued a degree in Construction Management and successfully obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) upon completion of their studies.
