South Carolina Quantum (SCQ) began as a non-profit organization started in 2022 in Columbia, South Carolina as the South Carolina Quantum Association promoting collaboration among academia, entrepreneurs, industry, and government to propel the advancement of Quantum technology in the south. 

After a $15 million dollar grant from the state of South Carolina in 2023, the SCQ quickly grew interest from other forward-thinking partners in South Carolina and others in the region and establish what is now the South Carolina Quantum. Our goal is to accelerate the future
of Quantum ecosystem in the Carolinas built upon three pillars: Education,
Entrepreneurship, and Engagement. 

Through these focused activities SCQ creates a collaborative network to advance a learning environment for Quantum Information Sciences, professional workforce development across all industries, and entrepreneurship for all.
