Ernest Wohnig has over 30 years of work experience in various roles related to cybersecurity and risk management. Ernest is currently serving as the Senior Vice President - Enterprise Risk Management Practice at SC&A, Inc., where they lead the practice in providing risk reduction solutions to federal and commercial clients. Prior to that, they were a Founding Fellow at CS2AI Global- Control System Cyber Security Association International. Ernest has also held leadership positions at System 1, Inc., where they were the Senior Vice President - Operations/IT/OT Risk & Virtual CISO Services Practice Lead, and at Wohnig | Chaman | Associates, where they served as the CEO & CIP/ICS Cyber Security Principal.

Mr. Wohnig has also been actively involved in academia, serving as a member of the Cybersecurity Graduate Program Advisory Board at Thomas Edison State University and as an Adjunct Professor, Mentor, and Course Developer. Ernest has worked at The AES Corporation as a Senior Global Cybersecurity Advisor/Deputy CISO and at Booz Allen Hamilton as a Senior Associate and Energy Sector Assurance/Cyber Security Leader. Ernest Wohnig started their career as an Intelligence Officer in the United States Air Force and later worked as an Intelligence Analyst at the Defense Intelligence Agency, specializing in information warfare and critical network vulnerability analysis.

Ernest Wohnig completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Virginia Tech between 1988 and 1992. Ernest then pursued a Master's degree in International Management with a concentration in IT Policy at the University of Maryland Global Campus from 1998 to 2000.

In terms of additional certifications, Wohnig obtained certifications in ESG and Climate Change, ESG Impact: Investor Perspective, and ESG Risks and Opportunities from Wharton Online in 2023. Ernest also obtained a certification in Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy from MIT Sloan School of Management in 2020. Additionally, they acquired credentials in ITIL (obtained in September 2016) and PMP - Project Management Professional (obtained in November 2006). Wohnig also holds a certification in ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, obtained in 2004. Lastly, they have an inactive certification as a CISM - Certified Information Security Manager, awarded by ISACA.
