Scott Robertson has a diverse work experience in the design industry. Starting in 1996, they worked as a Graphic Designer at Minnesota Sea Grant until 2000. In 1997, they joined Dillman's Bay Properties as a Graphic Designer and stayed there until 2011. In 1998, they began working as an Interactive and Print Designer at Scott Robertson Design, a role that they still hold. In 2000, they briefly worked as a Graphic Designer at KPMG before becoming a Senior Web Designer at That's Nice from 2000 to 2010. Scott then worked as an Art Director at F. Schumacher & Co. from 2009 to 2014. In 2004, they also worked as a Graphic Designer at Thibaut Wallpaper & Fabrics for two years. Lastly, they are currently the Marketing Director at The House of Scalamandr?.

Scott Robertson attended Lakeland Union High School from 1990 to 1994, where they did not earn a degree or specialize in a specific field of study. Subsequently, they pursued higher education at the University of Minnesota Duluth from 1994 to 1999, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design.
