Bing Liu

Bing Liu serves as the Director of Applied Research at Scale AI, focusing on building data engines for Generative AI while also holding an adjunct professor position at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where guidance is provided for graduate-level research in NLP, LLM, and multimodal AI. Previously, Bing was the Applied Research Lead for Generative AI at Meta, leading a team to develop the Multilingual Llama model, and held engineering management roles at Facebook's Reality Labs, enhancing NLP technologies for voice AI. Bing's foundational research in Natural Language Processing and machine learning was established during a PhD at Carnegie Mellon University, complemented by software engineering roles at Google, Capio, and Oracle, with degrees from Nanyang Technological University Singapore and KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
