Dan Klein

Dan Klein is a Co-Founder and CTO at Scaled Cognition and a Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, where they are a founding member of the Berkeley AI Research Lab and the Berkeley Natural Language Processing Group. Previously, Dan co-founded Adap.tv and Semantic Machines, leading both companies in developing advanced natural language and conversational AI technologies, the latter now part of Microsoft. Dan served as a Technical Fellow at Microsoft from 2018 to 2022. They earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, and Mathematics (summa cum laude) from Cornell University, a Master’s in Linguistics from the University of Oxford, and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Stanford University.
