Andrew Backer

Andrew Backer has a long and varied work experience. Andrew started in 2000 at Discreet as a Developer Relations Online Programs, where they designed and developed the company's partner plugin directory. In 2001, they worked at Icon Medialab as a Web Developer, focusing on developing web portals using JSP and HTML. In 2002, they became the Technical Team Lead at VirtuaLogic, Inc. where they managed a development team creating multiple web applications for fortune 500 clients. In 2006, they worked at both WorkHabit and County of Marin, where they were a Sr. Programmer/Analyst. At WorkHabit, they independently developed a web services enabled ordering and billing platform. At County of Marin, they oversaw and developed core modules of the flagship legal domain application for the CA Superior Court. In 2011, they became the R&D Manager at PowerE2E China, where they architected and led development of new C# projects, and supervised maintenance and improvements to the company's core Java based platform. Finally, in 2015, they became the Engineering Manager at ScanTrust.

Andrew Backer attended San Francisco State University from 2003 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
