Aaron Carruthers

Aaron Carruthers is the Executive Director at the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities, a position held since 2014. Prior to this role, Aaron served as Chief Deputy Executive Director at the Mental Health Services Oversight & Accountability Commission and Chief Deputy Director at the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation. Aaron also has experience as a speechwriter for the California Department of Justice and was a Principal Consultant for the California State Senate. With a background in legislative support, Aaron worked as a Legislative Aide and Field Representative in the California State Assembly. Aaron's commitment to public service began early in their career as a Fellow in Public Affairs at Coro Northern California. Aaron is currently pursuing further education at the University of Southern California.
