Thomas Gemperle

Thomas Gemperle is a Swiss industrial designer and entrepreneur. Thomas is the co-founder and CBO of Scewo, a startup that manufactures an all-terrain wheelchair with stair-climbing capability.

Thomas began their career as a trainee at Deutsche Werkstaetten, where they worked in interior and product design. Thomas then moved to Schreinerei Fust, where they trained as a furniture maker.

In 2011, Thomas joined Erich Keller AG as a project manager. Thomas oversaw the construction of numerous high-end residential and commercial projects in Switzerland.

In 2014, Thomas left Erich Keller AG to join Tatic Designstudio Srl as a trainee. There they worked on a variety of design projects, including furniture, lighting, and interiors.

In September 2014, Thomas co-founded Scewo with fellow industrial designer Stefan Ziegler. The company's first product is the Scewo wheelchair, which features stair-climbing capability and all-terrain wheels.

Thomas Gemperle has a Bachelor of Arts in Industrie- und Produktdesign from ZHdK Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and an HF Diplom in Holztechniker from Berner Fachhochschule BFH.
