Christine Carr

Dr. Christine Carr is a Distinguished University Professor of Emergency Medicine and Public Health Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina. Currently, they serve as the Chief Clinical Officer at Health Sciences South Carolina and the CEO of the South Carolina Health Information Exchange (SCHIEx). Dr. Carr holds a BS from Cornell University and an MD from the Medical University of South Carolina, completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, and has extensive experience in leadership roles within clinical, research, and healthcare policy domains. Notably, in 2008, they successfully secured a $2.8 million Duke Endowment grant to establish a regional health information exchange, significantly enhancing emergency care delivery in South Carolina.
