Michael Lee has had extensive work experience in various roles in the technology and gaming industry. Michael is currently working as a Senior Engineering Manager at Schell Games, where they oversee engineering operations. Prior to this, they served as a Senior Engineer at the same company, where they worked on projects such as Deep Time Detectives and Jedi Challenges, specifically focusing on AI development and lightsaber combatants.
Apart from their work at Schell Games, Michael also has experience in academia. Michael worked as an Adjunct Faculty member at Carnegie Mellon University's Entertainment Technology Center, where they taught and mentored students. Additionally, they co-founded Ludoko Studios, LLC, and worked as an Indie Game Developer.
Earlier in their career, Michael served as a Building Virtual Worlds Pipeline Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, where they mentored students and assisted with hardware and software implementations. Michael also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology, supporting Dr. Michael Nitsche on various projects. As a Graduate Research Intern at USC Institute for Creative Technologies and an Undergraduate Research Intern at Southern California Earthquake Center, they gained valuable research and development experience.
Michael Lee completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at North Carolina State University from 2003 to 2006. Michael then pursued further education and was a Master of Science candidate in Digital Media at Georgia Institute of Technology from 2006 to 2007. Finally, they attended Carnegie Mellon University from 2011 to 2013, where they obtained a Master of Entertainment Technology degree, specializing in Entertainment Technology.
