We are a non-profit building technology enhancing the public sector. We work on making democracy more effective. We question public sector bureaucracy and the status quo, but also deeply respect it. We move fast, but don't break things. We study the established and do the unconventional.

Our main project is OpenCouncil, an AI platform that demystifies local government and enables active citizen participation. We have started at the municipal level in Greece: automatically transcribing and organizing city council meetings, making them simple and understandable. We meet citizens where they are by generating podcasts, TikToks and Reels after each city council meeting.

OpenCouncil operates under steward ownership principles, and is a for-profit entity fully owned by Schema Labs. We view profit as a means to sustain ourselves and achieve our purpose.
