Stan Schmidt started Schmidt Associates on February 1, 1990. He believed that every business, no matter how big or small, needs a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Our firm was designed to provide that function to those businesses that were most likely too small to have a CFO on staff.

It quickly became apparent that the CFO role was most effective if adequate records were maintained properly and in a timely manner. Record keeping and payroll processing soon became a key part of Schmidt Associates services. To this day, the firm boasts a thriving record keeping and payroll practice as well as CFO/Controllership services to a wide variety of clients.

Although income tax return preparation has always been a strong component of the success of the firm, income tax planning is encouraged as a more effective way to manage the income tax bite. Additional planning engagements include financial planning, estate planning, retirement planning, and business planning.
