Michael Clear

Michael Clear is a Science Associate at Schmidt Sciences, with prior experience at Schmidt Futures and Brookhaven National Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Michael completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Biology at the University of Mississippi, where involvement included serving as President of the Biology Graduate Student Society and receiving the NASA Mississippi Space Grant Fellowship. Key accomplishments include designing and programming a continuous culture device, conducting transcriptomic studies, and mentoring undergraduate researchers. At Algenol Biofuels Inc., Michael contributed to the operation of closed algal bioreactors and oversaw the build-out of an algal biorefinery in India. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
