Rick Smith is a Principal Tunnel Engineer with extensive experience in geotechnical engineering and tunnel design. They are currently a Principal at Schnabel Engineering, having joined in 2024, and previously held the position of Senior Associate at Delve Underground from 2006 to 2024. Prior to that, Rick served as a Senior Engineer at CDM from 2000 to 2006 and worked as a Geotechnical Engineer at Shannon & Wilson, Inc. from 1990 to 2000. Rick earned a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington.
