Schola Campesina is an international agroecology school situated in Italy, in the Biodistrict delle Via Amerina e delle Forre, Viterbo province.  The foundation of Schola Campesina is rooted in the principles and action plan outlined during the 2015 Nyéléni International Forum for Agroecology. 

Our primary objective is to cultivate and disseminate knowledge concerning agroecology, with a specific focus on the global governance of food and agriculture. This involves engagement in international policy processes that influence policy-making at various levels, particularly those that impact small-scale food producers. Our goal is also to facilitate the exchange of experiences and knowledges amongst small-scale food producers through the organizations of workshops convening smallholders’ organizations.
 
Our mission at Schola Campesina revolves around fostering knowledge exchange among food producers' organizations and collaborating with other stakeholders such as academia, activists, NGOs, facilitating the dialogue among different kind of actors (food producers, scientists, NGOs, etc. and strengthening smallholders’ voices at international policy level.

Our school has run an extensive number of training and advisory services in the field of agroecology based on peer-to-peer and horizontal learning methods. 
Schola Campesina is a co-creator and a facilitator of the Agroecology network Bilim in Eastern Europe and Central Asia region since 2020, as well as an organizer of the yearly International Forum of Bilim network. Bilim is a community of organizations active in Agroecology from Eastern Europe Western and Central Asia region. It brings together grassroots movements, organizations, NGO’s and other groups organizing peasants and small-scale food producers.
