Christopher Simard

Christopher Simard currently serves as Senior Vice President of Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance at Scholar Rock since June 2024. Prior to this role, Christopher amassed extensive experience at Vertex Pharmaceuticals from August 2005 to May 2024, where positions included Vice President of Medical Safety and Risk Management and Executive Medical Director of various functions related to medical safety. Responsibilities included oversight of Aggregate Safety Reports and Risk Management activities for cystic fibrosis products. Earlier experience includes roles at Serono, USA, as Director of Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance and Associate Director of Pharmacovigilance, as well as a medical review physician. Christopher began a medical career with an anesthesiology residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center from 1995 to 1999. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Saint Anselm College.
