Sophie Cashell is the Editorial Director for Illustrated Books at Scholastic, where they focus on publishing stories that inspire children to read. With a background in music and teaching, Sophie has experience as a professional musician and piano teacher. Their editorial career progressed from an Assistant Editor to Senior Commissioning Editor at Scholastic, following a brief period at Walker Books. Sophie is a graduate of The Royal Academy of Music and The Yehudi Menuhin School of Music, where they honed their passion for creativity and storytelling.
