School is Loud is a Québec-based registered charity that helps young people develop confidence, critical thinking, communication skills, and media literacy through school journalism, podcasting, radio, and live broadcasting.

We work with schools, educators, community organizations, and institutional partners to create accessible, practical, and supervised media experiences. Young people learn how to research information, verify sources, structure their ideas, conduct interviews, collaborate, record, produce, and share content with real audiences.

Our programs include:

• media literacy and communication workshops;
• school journalism and podcasting projects;
• supported media clubs;
• live radio simulations;
• mobile studios and public event activations;
• technical and editorial support adapted to school environments.

Our approach is designed to provide structured, turnkey projects without adding unnecessary workload for teachers and school staff. We provide the equipment, mentoring, production support, and technical guidance required to deliver each project successfully.

We also produce 450 Décibels, a weekly radio program broadcast on CISM 89.3 FM from Laval. The program provides a public platform for young people, schools, community organizations, social economy organizations, and initiatives that contribute to their communities.

Our goal is simple: to ensure that young people are not only media consumers, but informed and responsible creators who are equipped to take part in public dialogue.
