Jörg H. Mayer

Jörg H. Mayer has had a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jörg H. is currently serving as the Head of Digital Acceleration (Chief Digital Officer) at SCHOTT since 2019. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Managing Director at the Schmalenbach Arbeitskreis "Digital Finance" starting in 2016. Additionally, Jörg has experience as a Lecturer and Head of the competence center "Corporate Management Systems" at Darmstadt University of Technology since 2007.

Jörg H. has also worked at Accenture Strategy as a Managing Director, where they served as the Head of Digital Finance, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany. From 2014 to 2015, Jörg worked at Deloitte Consulting as a Managing Director, focusing on building the business of an interdisciplinary consulting unit. Jörg H. also worked as a Global Expert and Head of Competence Center "Corporate Management Systems" at McKinsey &COMP., Inc. from 2006 to 2013.

Jörg has held various positions earlier in their career, including Head of Business Consulting (SVP) at SAP Systems Integration AG/SAP Consulting Germany from 2003 to 2005, and Director Advisory at KPMG Deutsche Treuhand-Gesellschaft AG from 1999 to 2003.

Before entering the consulting field, Jörg was the Founder and CEO of Engineering company "MIT - Mayer Ingenieurtechnik" from 1998 to 1999. Jörg H. also worked at Metallgesellschaft AG, mg trade services ag, where they served as an Assistant to the board and project manager from 1995 to 1997.

Jörg H. Mayer has a degree in Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur from Technische Universität Darmstadt, with a focus on Accounting and Information Systems (IS), obtained in 1994. Jörg H. also holds a Venia (full professorship approval) in Business Administration and Information Management from the University of St.Gallen, completed in 2015. In addition, they have a PhD in Executive Information Systems from Technische Universität Darmstadt, although the specific years of completion are not provided.
