Laurent Despont

Laurent Despont is an experienced professional in the field of physics and production management, currently serving as Plant Manager and Head of Production at SCHOTT since March 2011, where responsibilities include preparation of financial, personal, and investment planning, and acting as a liaison among various departments. Prior to this role, Laurent worked as Lean Manager at SCHOTT, focusing on Lean initiatives and project moderation. Previous experience includes serving as Innovation Project Manager at Oerlikon Solar, where project planning and coordination for development projects were key responsibilities, and as a Process Engineer and Six Sigma Black Belt Project leader, contributing to the optimization of photovoltaic devices. Additionally, Laurent held a position as Assistant and PhD student at the University of Neuchâtel, engaging in international research networks while gaining a solid understanding of material properties. Laurent holds a PhD in Physics from the Université de Neuchâtel and a Master's degree in Physics from the Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg.
