Chie U.

Chie U. is a Senior Scientist II at Schrödinger since July 2025, with previous experience as a Scientist II in Biochemistry & Biophysics at Treeline Biosciences and as a Scientist I in Biomolecular Sciences at New Equilibrium Biosciences. Chie U. holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics from Brandeis University, where research focused on the biochemical and biophysical characterization of novel Iron-sulfur proteins and metallo-proteins. Significant contributions include the characterization of redox-active cofactors through spectroscopic techniques, the development of protein function assays, and supervision of undergraduate researchers. Additionally, Chie U. served as a HHMI-QBReC Instructor, designed a lab course for undergraduates, and functioned as a Posse STEM Mentor, providing guidance and support to students in STEM fields. Earlier roles included a Junior Specialist at UC Davis, where Chie U. managed lab operations and supervised undergraduate employees, and participation in elephant welfare research.
