Jonathan MacDonald

Jonathan Macdonald is a highly experienced Principal Scientist II at Schrödinger, where responsibilities have been held since May 2022. Prior to this role, Jonathan served as the Medicinal Chemistry Team Lead at the Cleveland Clinic's Center for Therapeutics Discovery from October 2018 to May 2022. Additionally, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position was held at Vanderbilt University Medical Center from January 2015 to October 2018, working under Principal Investigator Prof. Stephen W. Early career experience includes roles as a Scientific Officer and PhD Student at The Institute of Cancer Research from October 2010 to December 2014, with a focus on medicinal chemistry and an emphasis on imidazo[4,5-b]pyridine fragment libraries. Jonathan's industry experience also includes a summer placement at Novartis and an industrial placement at BioFocus. Jonathan earned a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from The Institute of Cancer Research and holds a Master's degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Leeds.
