Rui Hu

Rui Hu is a Senior Software Developer I at Schrödinger since January 2021, serving as the Tech Lead for the Forcefield team. Previously, Rui held the role of Software Developer II, maintaining and developing the computational backend, including the C++/Python codebase for the OPLS force field, C++ codebase for the Desmond molecular dynamics simulation engine, and machine learning-based atomistic potential. Prior experience includes a Doctoral Student role at Columbia University in the City of New York from September 2013 to December 2020, focusing on pulsar magnetosphere simulation, as well as a Student Intern position at the Vice Provost Office, contributing to data collection on faculty expertise university-wide. Rui Hu earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Fudan University, along with participation in an exchange student program at UC Santa Barbara.
