Vu Ong

Senior Scientist II

Vu Ong is a computational modeling scientist specializing in high performance computing for quantum mechanical simulations, quantum chemistry, and finite element analysis. They served as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Physics from 2003 to 2006, where they developed a Fortran code for semiconductor quantum-well wires. Vu later held postdoctoral positions at California State University, Northridge from 2013 to 2014, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory from 2015 to 2018, and Ames National Laboratory from 2019 to 2022, focusing on magnetic properties and thermodynamic stability in various materials. Vu holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Sungkyunkwan University and is currently a Senior Scientist at Schrödinger, where they contribute to materials science product discovery.
