Dave Whitehead

Dave Whitehead is currently the CEO at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories. Dave has been with the company since 2006, starting as Vice President of Research & Development. In this role, they were responsible for 800+ person team responsible for research, specification, design, development, testing, technical marketing, and application support of systems for the management, monitoring and control of critical electrical infrastructure. In May 2017, they were promoted to Chief Operating Officer, a position they held until November 2019.

Prior to joining Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Dave worked as a combat systems engineer at Electric Boat from 1989 to 1994. In this role, they were responsible for the design and installation of combat and weapons control systems on U.S. Navy submarines.

Dave Whitehead has a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Hartford Graduate Center Inc. and a BS in electrical engineering from Washington State University. Dave is also a certified professional engineer in Washington, North Carolina, and New York.
