Max Klein began their work experience in 1999 as a Telecommunications Technician at Broadcast Towers, Inc., where they focused on fiber optic and fixed point-to-point microwave telecommunications. Max then founded Crank Technologies, Inc. in 2000, a web-based application services company. In 2003, they worked as a Sr. Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, where they participated in the development of a detection system against IEDs. Max later became a Program Management Intern at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and worked on source selection panels. In 2003, Max joined Exponent as a Senior Manager, where they worked on the development of ground penetrating radar systems. In 2014, they became the Chief Technology Officer at SCI Technology, Inc., focusing on developing new technologies and product offerings. Max then worked as the Vice President of Engineering and Product Development at Sanmina from 2017 to 2018, leading a commercial Design Engineering Services group.
Max Klein has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Max also holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Max further received training as an Emergency Medical Technician from Foothill College. Max obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer and Systems Engineering and Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Additionally, they hold an Extra-Class Amateur Radio License, which was awarded to him by the Federal Communications Commission in 1996.
