At the Science Communication Lab (SCL), we believe that science isn’t just a collection of facts—it’s a deeply human, collaborative, and curiosity-driven journey.

As a nonprofit organization, we are on a mission to transform science education by bringing the human stories of science to classrooms nationwide. Through cinematic, award-winning documentary films and research-backed, classroom-ready resources, we make science accessible, inclusive, and exciting for learners of all backgrounds.

By highlighting diverse scientists sharing their authentic triumphs, failures, and persistence, we help students relate more deeply to scientists, foster their own science identities, and build a place for themselves in STEM fields.

What We Do:
* Cinematic Science Storytelling: We produce world-class films—such as OBSERVER, Human Nature, and Picture a Scientist—that explore the nature of scientific inquiry, ethics, and the power of observation.
* Free NGSS-Aligned Resources: We partner with educators to develop free, high-quality, standards-aligned lesson plans and hands-on activities that bridge the gap between complex research and classroom learning.
* Professional Development for Educators: We support teachers through our national Educator Ambassador program, regional district pilots, hands-on workshops and interactive webinars designed to bring media-rich instruction into the classroom.

Our Impact:
* 10,000+ Educators in our network
* 28 Million+ Views on YouTube
* 20,000+ Early Career Scientists Trained

We envision a world where science is a part of everyone’s story. Whether you are a teacher looking to inspire your classroom, a scientist eager to share your work, or a partner passionate about science literacy, we invite you to join us.
