Gemma Margetts

Gemma Margetts is an experienced Application Scientist at SCIENION since October 2022, with a background in biomedical science that includes a PhD from the University of Buckingham (January 2019 - August 2022) focused on cell culture, medicinal plant extracts, molecular biology, and immunoassays. Prior to pursuing a PhD, Gemma held a position as a Research and Development Scientist at BBI Solutions (June 2017 - December 2018) and briefly worked in a customer service role as Front of House for SA Brain and Company Ltd (February 2017 - June 2017). Gemma's earlier experience includes serving as a Team Leader at JD Wetherspoon (September 2013 - December 2016) and working as a Lacrosse Instructor at Camp Echo (June 2016 - August 2016), as well as beginning a career in food preparation as a Sandwich Artist at Greggs (May 2011 - September 2012). Gemma holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences and a Master's degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from Cardiff Metropolitan University.
