John Asplund

John Asplund is a highly experienced professional in mathematical modeling, algorithms, and data analytics, currently serving as Principal Research Engineer I at Scientific Systems since July 2023. Prior to this role, John was a Research Scientist at Metron, Inc., where contributions included the development of algorithms for reinforcement learning and addressing national security challenges. Academic experience includes positions as Visiting Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology, where collaboration on COVID-19 policy was instrumental, and Associate and Assistant Professor at Dalton State College, where John focused on mathematics education and course development. Additionally, John holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Auburn University and multiple degrees in Mathematics and Analytics from Georgia Institute of Technology and Michigan Technological University.
