Luis Aburto began their work experience in 1993 as a Project Manager at SHIASA. Luis then worked as a Consultant and Project Engineer at Malcolm Pirnie, Inc. from 1999 to 2001. Following that, they held a position as a Senior Consultant at both First American Corporation and InVictus Technologies from 2001 to 2003. In 2003, they became the CEO of Scio Consulting, where they provided software engineering teams for tech companies. In 2012, they founded Cloudancy and also became the President of Venture Traction, a division of Scio that focused on helping entrepreneurs and organizations with Lean Startup principles. In 2017, they became the CTO of Trio Rewards, Inc., a mobile app platform. Additionally, they worked as a Professor at ITESM from 2003 to 2004.

Luis Aburto has a diverse education history that spans over several decades. In 1985, they enrolled at the Instituto Tecnologico de Morelia, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Luis completed their undergraduate studies in 1990. Following this, in 1992, Luis attended the University of Strathclyde, where they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Aided Engineering Design. Luis completed their studies in 1993. In 1997, Luis embarked on another educational journey at The University of Texas at Austin. Here, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Engineering, which they completed in 1999. Most recently, in 2015, Luis attended the Harvard Business School Executive Education program, where they further honed their skills in business management and leadership with a focus on Leading Professional Service Firms.
