Ascary Navarro

Secretary at South Central Los Angeles Regional Center for Persons with Developmental Disabilities

Currently, Mr. Navarro works as a Job Coach / Assistant for Partners in Employment Development where he has the opportunity to help individuals with disabilities start their professional journey. Mr. Navarro has been active in the Advocate Advisory Committee as a member and secretary for four and a half years. He has also been active in the Board of Directors for 4 years and was recently elected as secretary for the board. Mr. Navarro is also a member of the Consumer Services Committee and has been since 2019. Besides his roles in the committees, he has also been a speaker at conferences from 2017 to 2019. He was a speaker at the “People First and Supported Life Conference” where he discussed joining the board and obtaining employment skills. One of his goals is to provide a voice for those who need to speak. Mr. Navarro hopes to better understand the community and the families by learning what is happening around them as well as providing quality support if needed. One of his main goals is to continue to help people and break stereotypes to move forward with progress.
