Raul Muñoz

Board Member at South Central Los Angeles Regional Center for Persons with Developmental Disabilities

Raul Muñoz is an Independent Neurodiversity Consultant and Change Agent that aims to rewrite outdated narratives that exist within people who were born with developmental or other learning differences. Growing up as an Autistic Latino male in South Los Angeles, he has experienced many obstacles, from disempowerment to social isolation. Through the extensive support of his family, the South Central Los Angeles Regional Center, and other supports over the years, he has been able to accomplish a lot, including graduating with a Masters in Social Work from USC, living independently, and more. He also has worked with the disability community for more than 8 years in various capacities and has found his work to be his calling. Whether it is working with individuals directly, developing and managing different programs, leading peer support groups, delivering public speeches, or serving on the Board of Directors for the South Central Los Angeles Regional Center, he works hard to advocate on behalf of self-advocates and their families so that they can live fulfilling lives.
