Mike Piska has a long history of working in the technology industry. Mike began their career in 1995 as a QA Analyst at GE Digital, where they were responsible for software testing of a variety of factory automation products. Mike then moved up to become a QA Team Leader, a Control System Integrator, and finally a Senior Software Technology Manager, spearheading several key company wide initiatives. In 2014, they joined Mobile Data Technologies as a Software Engineering Manager, leading several talented software teams designing and building cutting edge control system platforms and applications for high-tech oilfield services equipment. Mike also took over management of the hardware development team on an interim basis, rebuilding the team and adding printed circuit board design capability. In 2020, they joined Scope AR as the Director of Engineering, building an international team of uniquely skilled developers to create an industry-leading product suite in the emerging technology space of Augmented Reality.
Mike Piska obtained a B. Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta between 1991 and 1996. Mike also obtained a P. Eng. - Professional Engineer certification from APEGGA in January 1996. In June 2005, they earned a Six Sigma Green Belt certification from GE. In January 2013, they obtained a CSM - Certified SCRUM Master certification from the Scrum Alliance. Finally, in May 2016, they earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
