Scott Berney currently serves as an Independent Board Member for Safeguarding at Scope, starting in July 2023. In addition, Scott will assume the role of Chair of the Charity Retail Safeguarding Network from February 2024 to October 2025. Previously, Scott held the position of Head of Safeguarding at the British Heart Foundation from September 2018 to August 2024 and served as interim Head of Safeguarding at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2017. Scott also worked as Head of Safeguarding at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust from February 2002 to May 2018, specializing in safeguarding practices for various vulnerable populations. Academically, Scott earned a Master of Science in Health Professions and Related Clinical Sciences from the University of Portsmouth and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Reading.
