Rowan Meara

Rowan Meara is a Server Architect at Scopely, a position held since May 2025. Prior experience includes a Software Intern role at the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, where Rowan developed an anomaly detection platform and built a web interface using Python and MongoDB. As an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at Cornell University, Rowan supported courses in Theory of Computing and Operating Systems, guiding students through projects involving Unix-like kernel implementation. At Bebo, Rowan improved video pipeline reliability and performance, significantly reducing resource usage. In a tenure at Niantic, Inc., Rowan contributed to the development of major features for Pokémon Go, including Adventure Sync and Team Rocket Takeovers. Educational qualifications include a Computer Science degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Cornell University.
