Roy Rosenthal is the General Counsel, Head of Business Affairs at Scopely bringing his Intellectual Property and Commercial legal background to the company with over 10 years of mobile and gaming experience.

Prior to Scopely, Roy ran the Commercial Legal team at Zynga as Senior Director of Business Affairs, overseeing all mobile and web publishing, advertising, distribution, and business development agreements. He was responsible for driving key partnerships with major IP licensing partners, third party developers, and advertising platform partners, as well as designing and structuring global privacy and data protection protocols related to Zynga’s advertising and user acquisition businesses. Before joining Zynga, Roy was the Director of Business Affairs at Shazam Entertainment in London and Palo Alto where he negotiated all major commercial agreements relating to music and technology licensing, international distribution, and product marketing. He further helped launch Shazam’s digital advertising business including its second screen television advertising platform, Shazam for TV.

Roy received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles and his Juris Doctor degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law where he also served as Articles Editor on the Hastings Law Journal. Following law school, he worked as an Intellectual Property and Commercial Litigation Associate at Heller Ehrman LLP in San Francisco.
