Dave Payne has been working in the tech industry since 2002. dave began their career at Earthlink, where they served as the Director of Wi-Fi Strategy and Director of Corporate Development. In 2007, they co-founded Scoutmob, a venture-backed online-to-offline new media company, and served as the Co-founder and CEO. In 2014, they co-founded Switchyards Downtown Club, the country's first neighborhood work club. In 2015, they began advising for Hux, an online marketplace where users can book home services, as well as Split, an online payment platform. dave also began advising for Gather Technologies, a venture-backed startup, in 2012. In 2016, Dave Payne began working for Techstars as the Managing Director, Entrepreneur In Residence, and Mentor. dave also began advising for Saige, a modern day personal chef service, and Offline Media Inc., a concierge service. In 2018, they became a Board Member for the Venture Atlanta Conference.

Dave Payne obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business in 1994, having begun their studies in 1990.
