Shane Latimer is a seasoned environmental planner, ecologist, and toxicologist with over 30 years of expertise in environmental assessment, planning, permitting, and implementation. Currently serving as Vice President and Senior Environmental Planner at SCS Engineers since January 2016, Shane specializes in projects that integrate built and natural environments, including solid waste facilities, oil and gas infrastructure, and sewage treatment plants. Previous roles include Senior Environmental Planner at Latimer Environmental LLC, where Shane managed complex projects involving land use and environmental permitting, and a Senior Ecologist/Project Manager at ICF International, focusing on natural resource assessment and multi-agency permitting. Shane's early career includes a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Tulane University and experience as a Botanist/Ecologist with the US Forest Service. Shane holds a PhD in Ecology and Environmental Toxicology from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Science in Botany/Plant Biology from Southern Oregon University.
