Albert Thomas

Intervention Specialist at South Carolina Youth Advocate Program

Albert Thomas has extensive experience in leadership and advocacy roles across various organizations. As the Area Coordinator for the South Carolina Special Olympic since October 2016, Albert coordinates athletes, coaches, and partners in Area 10. In addition, Albert serves as a High School Golf Coach for the South Carolina High School League and holds the position of President for the Clarendon County Ministerial Alliance since January 2015, collaborating with local pastors and leaders. Albert is also an entrepreneur and owner of A & L Chinese Elm Trees since February 2009. Additionally, Albert has been mentoring young boys as part of the Boys To Men program with Clarendon School District 1, actively participating as a Special Education Assistant and Intervention Specialist with the South Carolina Youth Advocate Program since August 2005, advocating for children and adults. Albert's pastoral leadership as the Senior Pastor of Full Gospel Church since April 1992 complements a strong educational background, holding a Bachelor's degree in Christian Studies from CTB-Institute obtained between 2000 and 2004.

South Carolina Youth Advocate Program

The South Carolina Youth Advocate Program (SCYAP) is South Carolina’s premier provider of foster care and community-based services. We are a private, non-profit, 501(c)3 child-placing and family-serving organization. SCYAP has served children and families in South Carolina since 1990. SCYAP programs promote individualized treatment, flexible programming, case and cause advocacy, community-based services, and a positive approach to treating children and working with families. We have a comprehensive array of programs and services to children and families dealing with serious emotional, behavioral, psychological and/or development issues.
