Karen Landers

Karen Landers is the General Counsel at the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS), where they represent MTS in all legal matters, oversee outside counsel, and manage various legal departments. Previously, Landers served as Senior Deputy County Counsel for the County of San Diego from 2008 to 2011, representing multiple departments and negotiating crucial agreements for public projects. They also held positions as an attorney at Best Best & Krieger LLP and as Chairperson of the Legal Affairs Committee for the American Public Transportation Association from 2020 to 2023. Landers earned their JD from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco, and a BS in Planning and Development from the University of Southern California.
