Sharon Cooney

Sharon Cooney has a diverse work experience in the public sector. From 2005 to the present, they have held various roles at the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS), including Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and Chief of Staff. In these positions, they have been responsible for managing intergovernmental affairs, planning and scheduling, the Board of Directors, and taxicab administration. Prior to their time at MTS, they worked at the County of San Diego as a Staff Officer in Strategy and Intergovernmental Affairs from March 2005 to October 2005. Sharon Cooney attended Georgetown University from 1984 to 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Government. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at Villanova University from 1988 to 1989, obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Political Science. Finally, they attended Boston College from 1990 to 1997, although they did not earn a specific degree during this time. Sharon'sfocus of study at Boston College was Political Science.
