Nick Funk

VP of Engineering at SDVI

Nick Funk is the current Vice President of Engineering at SDVI. Nick has over thirteen years of experience in the engineering field and has worked with companies such as Raytheon and RadiSys Corporation. Funk began their career in 2006 as a System Engineering Intern at RadiSys Corporation where they worked on various projects related to system engineering. Nick then transitioned to Raytheon in 2007 where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer and Global Hawk UAS Subject Matter Expert. In this role, Funk participated in UI development for rearchitected ground segment software for Globalhawk UAV platform, supported integration efforts between Raytheon software and ground, air vehicle, and sensor components across multiple configurations, and acted as liaison between Raytheon and third-party development teams. Nick also coordinated development effort on centralized metrics and troubleshooting web tool with contributors from many field sites around the world. In addition, Funk trained over 25 new field support personnel in support and maintenance of the Global Hawk Ground Segment. Nick also developed training resources and lab activities for onboarding and refresher training at field sites, working closely with site leads to tailor training to their individual needs. Most recently, Funk has taken on the role of Vice President of Engineering at SDVI where they are responsible for leading the engineering team and overseeing all engineering operations.

Nick Funk has a Master's Degree in Software Engineering from the University of Southern California Viterbi School of Engineering and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Oregon State University.

Nick Funk reports to Jeff Beachy, CTO. Nick Funk works with Gary Pass - VP of Technical Solutions, EMEA, Brian Pelletier - VP of Technical Solutions, Americas.
